Hi there! I’m Genaya Watson, the friendly face and dedicated speech-language pathologist at Sundrop Kids. With a solid foundation—a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maine and a Master of Science from Adelphi University—I’ve made it my mission to be your partner in transforming children’s lives, specializing in helping them overcome challenges.
Every journey is unique, and I’m all about creating a warm and supportive space where young clients and their families can feel right at home. With a big heart, a lot of patience, and a dash of humor, I’m here to guide you through the highs and lows on your child’s path to progress.
Beyond my role at Sundrop Kids, I am deeply invested in being a lifelong learner. My clinical interests extend to attending workshops and mentorship programs, enriching my education to become a more effective therapist. I also have a passion for working with adults, particularly those dealing with voice and swallowing disorders post-stroke and head and neck cancer patients.
When I’m not immersed in the world of speech pathology, I love spending quality time with my husband—whether we’re traveling, trying new restaurants, or just relaxing with a good Netflix series. I like staying active through soccer and going to the gym, and I enjoy being outside—especially watching the sunrise. I also enjoy hanging out with friends and family whenever I can.
Interior design and organizing are passions of mine too—I really enjoy creating spaces that feel calm, functional, and beautiful. I believe that when a space feels welcoming and calm, it helps support our nervous system and gives us the safety and space we need to grow. The same goes for therapy—providing safety and support helps children reach their full potential.
